Closes 1:30 am? Got there at 10:45 on a Friday to find they were closed. Told they were not open weekends except for private parties. More an events location than a bar. An obscure extension of a BBQ joint on the main street. Oh, and no blues.
Advertised as OPENED.. We get there and the restaurant above it was open, NOT this bar. No one there so they stayed closed. Wasted drive..they should update their site to avoid people making trips, waking the streets to get there..in HEALS..to be CLOSED????
The Moonshine Blues Bar has a great restaurant upstairs - Hendricks BBQ. We had dinner upstairs before heading downstairs for live music. The stage is fantastic and there is plenty of room to dance. The decor and ambiance are outstanding - good vibes all around. The drinks are moderately priced and the food upstairs was excellent; this I must say. I enjoyed our night out and am looking forward to the next time.
I used to love this place. Was willing to pay more for the chance to taste bourbon and whiskey that you can't find in other bars. I had even recommended in the past to a ton of folks that I knew were into good bourbon. I will never go back (or recommend the place) after last night. Service was dreadful as the bar tender was more interested in doing shots with the group of customers at the corner of the bar that waiting on folks. She yelled for last call (a good hour before closing time) and then proceeded to yell at the group she had just done shots with "no puking at my bar." I was finally able to get through to the rail on the bar only to be yelled at by her "I am done making drinks tonight." Just terrible service (we had to go to the bar as no one was about to come out from behind it and take orders) and dreadful experience. Bar Louis is right around the corner and while there selection may not be as extensive it is good enough for me. I am not going to stand by and be treated like this by such rude and inconsiderate bar tenders and wait staff.
I wouldn't even give this place one star except the Jeremiah Johnson Band was excellent. Pork sandwich was dry potato salad was crunchy. No good sitting. Bartenders were very sour faced you have to go to the bar to get your drinks they never come to you. Outrageously priced. First time I told them I wasn't happy with food all she said was sorry and threw it in trash. When I went to pay tab I mentioned it again and all she said was I can give you 25% off. Do not recommend and will NEVER GO BACK
