My cat came in the house with a wound on her neck. I was worried about my Kitty so I took her to AVS. It took a while to be seen. This is an Emergency Veterinarian Service so they take the sickest animals first, I saw a lot of them while I waited, it made me so grateful that they're not far from where I live. They take excellent care of the animals.

They are very compassionate and reasonable. Had to take our dog here twice for stomach issues after our normal vet was closed. AVS was quick and helpful both times. Both times sent home with medicine to make her feel better, and at good prices. The first time she got an IV and some fluids, plus 3 medicines to take home; $230. This time just exam and 2 meds; $160. Which I find very inexpensive for emergency services. Both times the tech and Dr herself called to explain what was going on and went out of their way to explain the medicine and what it should help with. Only issue is they STILL don't allow anyone inside with their pet. Don't like that at all. Hopefully it changes soon. Picture of Pippy resting for reference.

My puppy died 2 hours after I returned home with her from this clinic. They meet you in the parking lot and collect money like 200 or better just to get your sick animal in their door. It cost me $400 just to have our puppy die. They could have just told me she needed to be put to sleep but they would not tell me how grave her condition actually was. Euthanasia probably would have been a little bit more affordable and not as hard on my 4 year old and myself. I don't know what to say about this place it was not the best of anything at all.

DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE LIFE OF YOUR PET. THEY ONLY WANT MONEY! I had taken my pup in to Webster Vets animal hospital for a genetic mouth issue that had sprung up pretty quickly. They said she was going to need a specialist for it and sent me to AVS. I had an initial appointment where they took blood and was told that because certain levels were low they would have to run more tests to further find out what was going on BEFORE taking care of her mouth. (Which they could see was pretty serious at this point). They then quote me a $2700 bill for tests that were not necessary. I discussed things further and was able to only have them do the necessary testing, which would still be $1700. I had already paid close to $1200 for testing and initial visit costs at this point. I stressed to them that I would not be able to afford this let alone having to pay for the dental after this testing was done. No help was provided or offered. Until much later, when they said 2 different credit cards were available. These cards only reimburse AFTER care has been provided. I discussed things with them multiple times and on almost every occasion the person I dealt with on the phone was extremely judgmental about my not having the funds. I felt extremely disrespected by this staff and a lack of care for my animal played a major role. They just wanted to squeeze more money out of us. I have moved out of state, so I can find elsewhere that will treat us with more respect and kindness. But I wanted to be sure and leave this review for anyone who might be questioning starting any form of care at this place.

This place use to be my go to for emergency. I have a epileptic dog. Since the pandemic that happened almost two years ago the place has changed????. When I finally got inside after the parking lot text. They took my dog and caged him for 45mins when I haven’t even explained what the problem was. Nurse said you can tell the doctor and caged him. He’s 13 years old!! I would have rather held him until we met the doc.
